Seasons greetings everyone,
We, the staff and volunteers at the Cape Girardeau Habitat for Humanity, extend our upmost wishes for a joyous, safe, and peaceful holiday season. While holiday traditions may vary from country to country and coast to coast, we are all connected at this time through are love for our neighbors and our hope for a better world. As Christmas passes, we remember the times when we were pulled in so many different directions with family and work in this hectic season. We have persevered, and got to where we are now. Let us enter 2018, fresh and anew!
At Habitat for Humanity, we build. We build because we believe that everyone, everywhere, should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. More than building homes, we build communities, we build hope and we build the opportunity for families to help themselves. Help empower these families who have yet to achieve their wish of a safe and dignified home. Give the greatest gift by donating today. Your holiday gift will change a family forever!
Wishing you love, peace and joy

Did You know?
Our mission at Cape ReStore is to help communities by taking donated items and reselling those items to support our Habitat for Humanity in building affordable housing hard-working, low-income families.
The Cape Habitat for Humanity helps us build Community by:
- Generating revenue that is put directly back into Cape Habitat for Humanity programs and services
- Offering affordably priced and diverse selection of home improvement materials
- Supporting community development by offering affordable material and hosting community events
The Cape Habitat ReStore inventory changes every day thank to your donations. Drop off, used or new building materials, furniture, appliances, etc. at our ReStore Donation Center (2365 Rust Ave., Cape Girardeau) or call for pick up service at 573-651-9080.
Shop the store that helps build homes! You never know what you’re going to find for the selection varies depending on what has been donated. Every trip is different. What you see is not always what you end up with. Many shop at the ReStore to find items they can upcycle and transform into something new.
Want To Volunteer?
Anyone and everyone willing to dedicate their time in our projects can volunteer with us. We welcome volunteers in any form; be it individual, group, corporate, or in a form of community services and internships. Please contact our office for details. We can’t do it without you.
We strive to keep operating costs as low as possible to maximize the amount of money that goes directly to our community, and volunteers are one of the ways to achieve this. Volunteers also help ensure Cape Habitat ReStore is a great experience for donors and shoppers.
Volunteers provide support in a wide variety of ways, such as:
- Customer service
- Stocking store shelves

Cape Area Habitat for Humanity, hosted the groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, December 1, 2017 to launch a new Habitat home construction in Jackson at the home site on James Street. The Boyd family was finally ready to break ground; taking the first step of their journey.
The groundbreaking began at 12 p.m. at the lot. Many people from community joined the groundbreaking.
After a long wait, involving a tremendous community effort to help raise funds, the event commenced.
The Boyd family broke ground, their smiles of anticipation for the future crossed their faces. Not even the bleak winter atmosphere could not dull the excitement. Applauds resounded in congratulations.
A very special thanks to our sponsors and volunteers for all the hard work they put into this project. This groundbreaking ceremony was truly a huge success.

We are Here!
Habitat for Humanity- Cape Area is a non-profit Christian housing ministry. Through the homes we build, hope is restored, and lives are changed as the cycle of need is broken. Every individual deserves a decent place to live and to build a better family life.
Your support could be in any form whether it is your donation of time, money, labor, or a donation to the ReStore. It helps us to build homes, community, and hope with families in need. Even the smallest donation can become a big contribution in the building of a home.
Volunteers are always needed for office work, committee work, or in our ReStore.
We invite those who wish to sign up and reserve a date to come and join us to build. Fill out our contact form here or sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of the page! Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religions. Join your neighbors on a Habitat project now!
