The ReStore located in Cape Girardeau is one of more than 500 such affiliates across the United States.  We accept contributions of new and gently used materials from individuals, contractors, and retail supply stores.  Contributors are provided a donation receipt entitling them to receive a tax deduction.

Merchandise at our ReStore is typically half the price of like items when purchased at full retail value. Open to the entire public, ReStore provides property owners an opportunity to maintain or upgrade their places of residence at a great savings. When individual properties are properly maintained, neighborhoods are stronger, crime rates decrease, and overall pride escalates in the community.

Items to be found in the ReStore vary from day to day. We attempt to maintain a large variety of doors, windows, lighting fixtures, toilets, sinks, lavatories, vanities, ceramic tile, and other items at all times. Used furniture in quality condition can also be available dependent on donations. Donations to the ReStore must be an ongoing process. Without contributions from the public our inventory would be depleted.

We like to think of our ReStore as a means of benefitting everyone. First, we provide individuals an option to avoid adding to landfills. Second, the general public can obtain good quality items at drastically reduced prices. Third, proceeds go toward the construction of additional Habitat homes for deserving families.
